Welcome to Spendocap. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Spendocap ("the App") handles your data and what information may be collected by third-party services used in the App.

1. Our Core Privacy Principle: Your Data Stays on Your Device

Spendocap is a local-first personal finance tracker. All your financial data—including transactions, accounts, budgets, categories, tags, and notes—is stored only on your device.

We do not provide user accounts, cloud sync, or server storage. Therefore, we do not collect, store, or have access to your personal financial data.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Transaction details (amounts, notes, merchants)
• Account names or balances
• Budget data
• Categories or tags
• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
• Contacts or location history

3. Data Collected by Third Parties

While Spendocap itself does not collect personal financial data, we use third-party services for essential functionality and to support development. These services may collect limited data as described below.

a) Advertising (Google AdMob)

Spendocap displays ads via Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect and process data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, including:

• Device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA) for ad delivery, frequency capping, and fraud prevention.
• Approximate location (derived from IP address) to show regionally relevant ads.
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks).
• App diagnostics (crash logs, performance metrics) to ensure the ads function correctly.

b) Exchange Rate Data

Spendocap retrieves currency exchange rates from the public Frankfurter API (https://www.frankfurter.dev).

• No personal or device-identifiable data is sent with these requests.
• The API is used solely to provide up-to-date currency conversion rates.

4. Managing or Deleting Your Data

Your Financial Data

Since your data is stored locally, you are in full control. You can delete your data by:

• Deleting transactions, accounts, or categories inside the App.
• Clearing the App’s storage via your device settings.
• Uninstalling the App (which permanently removes all local data).

Advertising Data

You can reset your Advertising ID or limit ad tracking via your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads
• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

5. Children’s Privacy

Spendocap is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
